About The Tour

8 Days / 7 Nights
5-nights Mauna Kea Beach Resort, Kona
+
2-nights Moana Surfrider Hotel, Waikiki

Whether you have visited these islands once or multiple times, Hawaii never disappoints. The Big Island of Hawaii has 21 of the world’s 23 possible climactic zones. The food products grown and raised here are phenomenal, along with the pleasant dry climate of the Kona Coast and Volcano National Park. Finish your two-island vacation in always interesting and diverse Waikiki, one of the best people-watching places on planet Earth. This unique program combines two of the finest and most historic resort properties in the Hawaiian Islands:

THE MAUNA KEA BEACH HOTEL
Constructed in 1965 by Laurence Rockefeller, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel was one of the first “Rock Resorts”. The building is a masterpiece of mid-modern architecture overlooking what is arguably one of the world’s great beaches. Guests are privy to enjoy the crystalline warm water and great snorkeling, with prolific manta rays so close to shore they are visible at night. Integrated into the surrounding volcanic landscape, this classic Hawaiian resort is filled with wonderful historic artifacts and artwork. The Mauna Kea is a special place which has continually delivered a world-class vacation experience to multiple generations of visitors to the Big Island of Hawaii.

THE MOANA SURFRIDER RESORT & SPA
Built in the late 19th century as the first hotel in Waikiki, the Moana opened in 1901 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original building is currently part of the resort complex today named the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. The Moana’s architecture was influenced by popular 19th century European styles, with Ionic columns, intricate woodwork and ornate plaster detailing. The original hotel’s grand porte cochere faces the street side and has wide lānais on the ocean side. The oceanfront courtyard is dominated by a 75′ Banyan Tree, a signature feature of this historic property. The original building has 75 guest rooms with the newer “tower” offering larger, more spacious rooms and suites, many with dramatic views of Diamond Head and Honolulu.
