Some Like It Hot

San Diego’s Hotel Del Coronado

Coronado CA

About The Tour

6 Days / 5 Nights

First constructed in 1888, the magnificent Hotel Del Coronado sits across San Diego Bay on Coronado Island. It is one of the few surviving examples of an American architectural genre: the wooden Victorian beach resort. It is the second largest wooden structure in the United States and a designated National Historic Landmark. The “Hotel Del” has hosted presidents, royalty, and numerous celebrities through the years. This iconic world-class resort hotel has been featured in numerous movies and books. It was the location and setting for Billy Wilder’s 1959 classic film “Some Like it Hot” with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.
